One-on-one Turkey Processing Class
In addition to your pasture-raised bird, you can sign up for a one-on-one butchering class to experience and learn how to process your own turkey. We will sell you a live bird, and you come out to the farm to have Ammon guide you through the entire process. He is an excellent teacher- you can do as much or little of the processing as you would like. You will go home with your turkey, gizzards, legs and the important experience of the transition of meat from farm to plate.
You must purchase a turkey to sign up for the class.
Chicken Processing Class
Interested in learning how to process your own chickens? It is an important farmstead skill to have, whether you’re raising poultry for your family, or just keeping hens in general. This small hands-on class will let you experience the full process. Ammon will guide you through the kill, cleaning and finishing/packaging your bird. You will go home with a chicken you have processed yourself, any offal you would like to keep, and the important experience of the transition of meat from farm to plate. This registration is for one person only. Each registrant will have one pasture-raised red ranger chicken to process.
Classes June 6 and 13; multiple times available. Sign up by June 1.
